Nature as a Decisive Factor in Finance. Analysis of the TNFD Framework.
More than half of the world’s GDP depends, directly or indirectly, on nature. Integrating its degradation into economic considerations can be decisive, as today the main environmental issue we face is no longer just climate change, but the loss of nature.
In response to this need, the TNFD was created. This task force aims to standardize the process of reporting and action regarding nature-related risks. The ultimate goal is to support a shift in global financial flows to achieve a positive outcome for nature by identifying opportunities to protect natural capital. Additionally, it aims to ensure that organizational activities are more aligned with the SDGs.
What are the methodological and disclosure recommendations included in the final version of the TNFD framework? What complementary guidance is included, and what upcoming publications are planned? Are we at the point where biodiversity finance is entering the mainstream?
