Retail banking and innovation: a group of Jordanian bankers visits Spain with IEF-Barcelona Finance School
A group of 14 banking professionals from Jordan participated in a Study Tour on retail banking in Spain organized by the Institute of Financial Studies-Barcelona Finance School, from February 17 to 21. This was a program organized in collaboration with the Association of Banks in Jordan (ABJ).
The objective of the program was to deepen knowledge of the Spanish financial system, its regulatory institutions, and the latest trends in banking innovation and fintech.
Throughout the week, participants made several institutional visits to key entities such as the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the BBVA City, All in One CaixaBank, and Arquia Banca, where they were able to learn first-hand about the strategies and business models of these institutions.
In addition to the visits, the program included keynotes with prominent experts from the financial and technological sector. Among them, Anton Diez, Country Manager of Trade Republic, shared his vision of the future of digital investment; Manuel Marín addressed the latest trends in fintech; Joan de Ramon Brunet delved into the impact of Blockchain in the financial sector; and Oscar Curtó from Banco Pichincha contributed his experience in banking innovation.
This exchange allowed participants to get a close look at the reality of the Spanish financial market and establish collaboration bridges between the banking entities of Jordan and Spain. The Institute of Financial Studies-Barcelona Finance School has extensive experience in this type of program with financial professionals from other countries, connecting them with the country’s financial entities and institutions to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
